Sri Gananatha Araneri School in Batticaloa District celebrated Tamil New Year 2026 with traditional performances, cultural activities, festive food sharing, and student participation that strengthened cultural awareness and community unity.
The Pongal celebration in the Kegalle District brought together 500 participants to honour harvest traditions, express gratitude, and strengthen cultural unity. The event fostered social harmony, community participation, and appreciation of cultural heritage within a diverse setting.
The Pongal festival was celebrated with 187 students at Sri Gananadha Moral School in Batticaloa, promoting cultural awareness, gratitude, and moral values through traditional activities and symbolic gift distribution that honoured the spirit of harvest and community.
A Moral Education Support Project in Vantharumoolai, Batticaloa strengthened cultural identity and ethical learning for 150 students at Sri Gananatha Moral School. Supported by the Nalliah Foundation (USA), the initiative promoted Hindu values, discipline, and devotion through the celebration of Saraswathi Pooja, creating a spiritually uplifting environment that improved classroom engagement, teaching conditions, and community trust in local moral education efforts.
Students at Sri Gananatha Moral School in Vantharumoolai, Batticaloa, engaging with new educational materials and traditional musical instruments, fostering Hindu values, cultural pride, and moral learning in a rural, under resourced community, thanks to the generous support of Radhesha Rasaratnam from Melbourne, Australia.
Students from Sri Gananatha Moral Development School embarked on a special spiritual education tour to sacred sites across Batticaloa, supported by Vanni Hope and sponsored by the Nalliah Foundation. This experience deepened their cultural and moral understanding through real-world exposure to historical and religious landmarks.

Before this project, students at Barathi Araneri School in Golinda Estate, Kegalle District, had been learning in a metal hut with little protection from the elements. With the generous support of Thamo & Puspam Gangatharan and Vanni Hope, a new school building has now been constructed, providing a safe and structured learning environment for these children.
