Celebrating Tamil New Year at Sri Gananatha Moral Development School

As part of our Community Development Initiative under the Moral Development Schools pillar, Vanni Hope proudly sponsored the Tamil New Year (Chithirai Puthandu) celebrations at Sri Gananatha Moral Development School in Vantharumoolai, Batticaloa District.

This vibrant event marked the beginning of the Tamil New Year, a culturally significant celebration for Tamil communities across Sri Lanka and the world.

A Joyful Day of Cultural Unity and Nourishment

In celebration of the New Year, a special nutritious meal was provided to all students at the school. The meal included traditional favourites: rice, dhal curry, soya meat curry, and gravy—offering a warm, festive atmosphere and nourishing experience to the children.

The event was filled with joy, unity, and a strong sense of cultural pride, reinforcing the values taught through the moral education program delivered at the school.

Supporting Moral Education Through Celebration

Events like these play a vital role in not only celebrating heritage but also in encouraging values such as gratitude, discipline, and kindness—core teachings of our Araneri (Moral Development) Schools.

We are proud to support Sri Gananatha Moral Development School, one of the schools Vanni Hope actively sponsors, and to continue fostering strong community values through cultural and educational engagement.
