As part of Vanni Hope’s Women’s Empowerment initiative under Entrepreneurship Support and Sustainable Livelihoods, we are proud to have provided a grinding mill to the Kalvilan Mothers Club in Chulipuram, Jaffna District. This project is a step towards fostering economic independence and creating opportunities for women to support their families and communities.
Supporting Women in Chulipuram
The grinding mill will serve as a valuable asset for the Kalvilan Mothers Club, enabling its members to process grains and other food products efficiently. This initiative not only reduces the time and effort required for manual grinding but also provides women with an opportunity to generate income by offering grinding services to others in the community.
By empowering women through access to resources and entrepreneurial opportunities, Vanni Hope is helping to create a sustainable path for economic growth and improved livelihoods in Chulipuram.
Collaboration for a Better Future
This project was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Saranya Mahesan Trust (Australia), whose commitment to supporting women’s empowerment and sustainable development continues to make a meaningful impact in rural communities across Sri Lanka.
The grinding mill was implemented by Vanni Hope with the goal of fostering economic self-reliance for women in the Kalvilan Mothers Club. It is part of our broader mission to uplift vulnerable communities, providing them with the tools and resources they need to thrive.
Empowering Women for Sustainable Change
Through initiatives like this, Vanni Hope aims to inspire and enable women to take charge of their futures. Projects under our Women’s Empowerment and Sustainable Livelihoods categories focus on building skills, creating opportunities, and fostering resilience in communities across Sri Lanka.
The provision of this grinding mill represents more than just a practical solution; it symbolizes hope, independence, and the potential for a brighter future for women and their families.
Gratitude and Looking Ahead
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Saranya Mahesan Trust (Australia) for their support in making this project possible. We also commend the women of the Kalvilan Mothers Club for their determination to embrace this opportunity and create lasting change in their community.
Vanni Hope remains committed to empowering women and fostering sustainable livelihoods across Sri Lanka, one project at a time.
