Capacity Building and Women’s Empowerment Project in Jaffna

We are thrilled to announce the commencement of our Capacity Building and Women’s Empowerment Project in Alvai North West Women’s Rural Development Society (W.R.D.S) within the Jaffna District. This initiative aims to empower local women by providing financial support through revolving loans and microcredit, enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods and achieve economic independence.

Through the generous sponsorship of Gandhi Illam from New Zealand, Vanni Hope has allocated a total of 1 million rupees towards this project, offering much-needed financial resources to support women in starting and expanding their own businesses. This funding will help participants pursue diverse economic activities, such as tailoring, small-scale agriculture, and other microenterprises.

By empowering these women, we hope to foster a sense of economic resilience and independence within the community. This project is a vital part of our Sustainable Livelihoods and Women’s Empowerment mission, as we work towards long-term development and self-sufficiency for women-headed families in the region. With access to financial resources and training, these women can take control of their futures, contributing not only to their families but also to the broader community’s growth.

This initiative represents Vanni Hope’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in Sri Lanka, providing them with the tools they need to thrive and lead a more prosperous life.
