Flood Relief for 35 Displaced Families in Kalvilan Kulam, Mullaitivu

Severe flooding caused by Cyclone Ditwah has affected communities across the Northern Province, with Kalvilan Kulam Village in the Thunukai Divisional Secretariat of the Mullaitivu District among the impacted areas. Prolonged heavy rainfall led to rising water levels, damaging homes and forcing families to leave their residences for safety.

To support those affected, Vanni Hope carried out a timely flood-relief intervention to address the immediate needs of displaced households.

Supporting Displaced Families

A total of 35 families from Kalvilankulam were displaced due to unsafe living conditions and are currently taking temporary shelter at Kalvilankulam School.
