New Classroom Renovation at New Polatagama Tamil Vidyalayam in We-Oya

Outside of newly renovated classroom.

We are excited to share the success of our recent classroom renovation project at New Polatagama Tamil Vidyalayam in We-Oya, Yatiyanthota, Kegalle District. As part of Vanni Hope’s Education & Skill Enhancement Project, this renovation, generously sponsored by Sai Prema from Australia, has significantly improved the school’s learning environment.

Previously, the classrooms lacked the necessary infrastructure for effective learning, with limited resources and deteriorating facilities affecting both teachers and students. The transformation has breathed new life into the school, ensuring that students now have a comfortable, inspiring space that fosters educational growth. The improved infrastructure not only enhances the physical environment but also boosts morale, leading to a more focused and motivated student body.

This initiative is part of our broader mission to uplift underserved communities across Sri Lanka by improving access to quality education. At Vanni Hope, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn in a supportive, well-equipped environment, and this renovation is a key step toward achieving that vision.

The renovation involved significant improvements to the classrooms, including better seating arrangements, upgraded lighting, and vibrant, child-friendly decor. These changes have already made a noticeable difference in student engagement, with teachers reporting higher levels of participation and enthusiasm in class. By providing the tools necessary for a quality education, we aim to create a lasting impact that goes beyond the classroom, setting students up for success in their future endeavours.

This project is a testament to what can be achieved when we come together with a shared goal of improving education for all. We are incredibly grateful to Sai Prema – Australia for their generous support and to everyone who played a role in making this project a reality. Together, we are building brighter futures for the students of New Polatagama Tamil Vidyalayam, and we look forward to continuing our work across Sri Lanka to uplift more communities in need.
