Vanni Hope and the Foundation of Goodness are proud to announce the official unveiling of the Badminton Courts at the University of Vavuniya Multi-sports Complex, marking a significant achievement in enhancing sports infrastructure in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. Sponsored by Vanni Hope, this project includes two renovated courts and one newly built court, all designed to elevate the standard of badminton facilities in the region.
The opening ceremony was a memorable event, led by Dr. Malathi Waran, Director of Vanni Hope, alongside Professor Mangaleshwaran, Vice Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya, and Mr. Kushil Gunasekera, Founder/Chief Trustee of the Foundation of Goodness. This collaboration between educational institutions, community organisations, and Vanni Hope symbolises a shared commitment to empowering youth and fostering community development through sports.
These state-of-the-art badminton courts are set to become a cornerstone for nurturing athletic talent in the region. The Multi-sports Complex at the University of Vavuniya is now equipped to provide young athletes with the facilities they need to hone their skills, pursue their aspirations, and compete at higher levels. Our goal is to create a platform where the dreams of young athletes can be realised, turning Vavuniya into a hub of sporting excellence.
