Celebrating the Achievements of Our Shakthy Illam Girls in the A/L Examinations

At Vanni Hope, we are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of the young women at our Shakthy Illam Children’s Home, who have recently completed their Advanced Level (A/L) Examinations. Their results are a true testament to their resilience, determination, and hard work—qualities that shine even brighter given the challenges they have faced throughout their young lives.

Overview of Results

This year, eight students from Shakthy Illam sat for their A/L examinations:

• Two students have qualified to pursue university education—a significant achievement that opens the door to endless possibilities for their futures.
• One student is eligible to attend a Teacher Training College, paving the way for a career in education and community service.
• Several others are considering further studies in alternative fields to develop their skills and build strong, sustainable futures.
• Only one student was unable to proceed to further education at this stage, but we remain committed to supporting her in exploring new opportunities.

A Story of Perseverance and Hope

For these girls, who come from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds, achieving success in their A/L exams is a major milestone. Despite facing personal hardships and limited resources, they have demonstrated incredible strength, pushing past obstacles that might have otherwise held them back.
