Vanni Hope Scholarship Awarded to Y. Kabishan for University Studies in Trincomalee

As part of our Education Support Initiative, Vanni Hope is proud to announce the sponsorship of Y. Kabishan, a determined and deserving student currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University of Sri Lanka.

Kabishan hails from Lousha Division, Great Western, Talawakele, in the Nuwara Eliya District. Raised in a plantation-based community, Kabishan has shown exceptional commitment to his education despite the many socio-economic challenges faced by families in the region.

This scholarship will help ease the financial burden on his family, enabling Kabishan to continue his higher education with stability, confidence, and hope for a better future.

Supporting Ambitions Through Higher Education

By sponsoring students like Kabishan, Vanni Hope aims to empower youth from underrepresented and underserved communities, particularly in the hill country and rural areas, to reach their academic and professional goals. Access to higher education is often out of reach for students from plantation sectors, but support like this can be life-changing.

We are deeply grateful to Mr. Ganendra Sanmugaratnam from Australia, whose generosity made this sponsorship possible. His support is not just funding a degree—it is helping build a future filled with promise, purpose, and potential.

This project was implemented by Vanni Hope as part of our continued commitment to educational equity and empowerment across Sri Lanka.
