At Vanni Hope, we believe that technology is only as powerful as the people trained to use it, which is why we’ve gone beyond installation to empower teachers with the skills they need to make the most of modern tools.

As part of our Education Support Initiative, Vanni Hope recently conducted a comprehensive Smart Board Training Program for teachers at Onthachchimadam Vinayakar Vidyalayam, located in the Batticaloa District. This school has already benefited from multiple previous projects, including the installation of a smartboard, mathematics classroom upgrades, and key school facility improvements.

All of these transformative steps were made possible thanks to the unwavering support of the Soundararasa family from Australia, who have generously sponsored every project we’ve implemented at this school.

From Equipment to Empowerment

Earlier this year, the school received a smart board to support digital learning and spark student curiosity through interactive lessons. But digital tools alone don’t transform classrooms—equipping teachers with knowledge and confidence does.

That’s why this training session was essential. Led by Mr. M. Thinesh, a certified Master Trainer in Smart Board and Blended Learning, the full-day program covered a range of topics, from basic operation and troubleshooting to software integration and lesson design using platforms such as eClass.

Training Outcomes and Impact

Teachers left the session with hands-on experience, practical skills, and the ability to create interactive and engaging lessons tailored to today’s learners. They’re now better prepared to integrate digital technology into everyday teaching and bring their classrooms to life.

Through this training, Vanni Hope ensured that the smart board is not just a piece of equipment in the room—it’s a powerful tool actively enriching students’ learning experiences.
