As part of our Education Support Initiative, Vanni Hope has successfully completed the establishment of a Model Mathematics Classroom at Palamunai Alighar Maha Vidyalaya, located in the Batticaloa District. This project was generously sponsored by Mr. Kandiah Suntharamoorthy and is designed to support students in Grades 1 to 5 with interactive, hands-on mathematics learning.
Advancing Rural Education in Batticaloa
Palamunai Alighar Maha Vidyalaya, situated in the remote village of Palamunai under the Kattankudy Education Zone, serves 267 students. Due to its location and limited resources, students here face significant barriers to educational access and achievement.
The newly developed Model Mathematics Classroom includes educational tools such as rulers, protractors, geometrical kits, and teaching aids tailored to early learners. This dedicated learning space aims to make maths more engaging, practical, and effective for young students.
Expected Impact
This initiative is expected to:
- Improve numeracy and problem-solving skills
- Increase student interest and engagement in mathematics
- Strengthen foundational learning for long-term academic success
- Help bridge the education gap in rural schools
Through this project, Vanni Hope continues its commitment to reducing disparities in education and providing high-quality learning environments to children in under-resourced areas.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Kandiah Suntharamoorthy for making this impactful project possible.
