As part of Vanni Hope’s Education Support Initiative, a new Model Mathematics Classroom has been established at J/Nelliyady M.M.T.M School in Karaveddy, Jaffna District. This project was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Prof. Kumbesan Sandrasegaran Family and aims to enhance the quality of mathematics education for the school’s 333 students.

These tools are designed to make mathematics more accessible, engaging, and fun for primary and secondary students. The model classroom encourages hands-on learning and fosters a deeper understanding of core mathematical concepts.
Supporting One of the Region’s Most Underserved Schools
Nelliyady M.M.T.M School was selected for this initiative as one of the most underserved schools in the Vadamarachchi Education Zone. Students in this area come from communities where many families depend on daily wage labour and farming, often with limited access to educational support. This new classroom helps bridge the gap in resources and creates an environment more conducive to learning.

The Model Mathematics Classroom project aims not only to improve academic outcomes but also to contribute to long-term goals, such as producing future engineers, technologists, and educators from the local Tamil community. By investing in education today, we are empowering students to unlock their full potential and pursue higher education and career pathways with confidence.
