We are pleased to announce the successful completion and handover of newly constructed Mathematics Classrooms at BT/PD/Vammiyadiyutru Vani Vidyalayam, located in the Vellawely Division of Batticaloa District.
This initiative was developed to strengthen mathematics education by providing students with a dedicated and well equipped learning space. By improving the physical learning environment, the project aims to support students in building confidence, improving performance, and developing a stronger foundation in mathematics.
Bridging Gaps in Educational Resources
In many underserved schools, limited access to subject specific classrooms and materials can hinder students’ ability to fully engage with their studies. Mathematics, in particular, requires both structured teaching and supportive learning environments to ensure students can grasp key concepts effectively.
This project addresses these challenges by introducing purpose built classrooms designed specifically for mathematics education. These spaces provide students with the opportunity to learn in a more focused and supportive setting, enabling better concentration and improved academic outcomes.
Promoting Engaged and Practical Learning
With the introduction of improved learning facilities, students are now able to experience a more interactive and engaging approach to mathematics.
Rather than relying solely on traditional teaching methods, the new classrooms support the use of visual aids, practical demonstrations, and collaborative learning. This approach encourages students to actively participate in lessons, making it easier to understand complex concepts and apply their knowledge in both academic and real world contexts.
At the same time, teachers are better supported in delivering structured and dynamic lessons, allowing them to cater to different learning styles within the classroom.
Who This Initiative Supports
This project plays an important role in strengthening educational access and improving learning outcomes within the school community.
Direct beneficiaries: 300 students
Indirect beneficiaries: Teachers, families, and the wider community

Building Foundations for the Future
Investing in quality education is key to creating lasting change within communities. By providing students with improved learning environments and access to better resources, this initiative contributes to both immediate academic improvement and long term development.
Projects like this demonstrate the meaningful impact that can be achieved when communities, donors, and organizations work together to support education.
This project was generously funded by Dr. Malathi Waran, whose support has made a lasting difference in the lives of students. We extend our sincere gratitude for their contribution towards advancing education and creating new opportunities for future generations
