Investing in Potential: Scholarships Supporting Three Students Across Sri Lanka

Education can open pathways to opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. For three students from Jaffna, Kegalle and Nuwara Eliya, new scholarship support provided greater financial stability as they continued working towards their academic goals and future aspirations.

The first monthly scholarship payments were successfully presented to all three students, officially marking the beginning of their respective scholarship periods.

Supporting a Young Student in Jaffna

P. Keerththikan, a Grade 9 student at J/Ilavalai Meihindan Maha Vidyalayam in Jaffna, began receiving scholarship assistance that was arranged to continue for two years and four months.

The support helped provide greater continuity throughout an important stage of his schooling, giving him additional encouragement and assistance as he continued his secondary education and worked towards his future goals.

His scholarship was generously sponsored by Krisnoah Manojkumar from Australia.

Helping Future Doctors Continue Their Studies

Scholarship support also reached two students pursuing medical degrees at Sri Lankan universities.

Henaka Ralalage Dilki Kaushalya Jayawardhana from Kegalle, who was studying Medicine at the University of Ruhuna, received her first monthly scholarship payment. Her scholarship was arranged for four years and four months, providing longer term assistance as she progressed through her medical education.

Her scholarship was generously sponsored by Pushpam and Ganga Gangatharan from Australia.

Y. Tharun from Nuwara Eliya, who was studying Medicine at the University of Colombo, also received his first scholarship payment. His scholarship was arranged for five years, providing sustained support throughout his university journey.

His scholarship was generously sponsored by Radhini and Ranjan Chelvarajah from Australia.

Creating Opportunity Through Long Term Support

For students pursuing their education, consistent financial assistance could ease some of the pressures that accompanied years of study and allow greater focus to remain on academic progress.

Rather than providing one-time assistance, each scholarship established a longer period of support tailored to the student’s educational journey. From secondary school through university level medical education, the scholarships reflected a commitment to helping young people continue pursuing their ambitions.

The presentation of the first monthly payments marked the beginning of three important educational journeys supported through these scholarships.
