As part of our Special Initiative under the Community Development Project, Vanni Hope proudly supported the 77th Sri Lankan Independence Day Celebration held at Sri Muthu Mariamman Kovil, Cymru Upper Division, Lindula, Nuwara Eliya District. This event brought together more than 150 senior citizens from the local community, offering them a day of unity, celebration, and warmth.
A Celebration of Unity and Tradition
The event began with the hoisting of the Sri Lankan national flag, symbolising pride and unity in the community. The senior citizens were then served a well-prepared lunch in a dignified and organised manner. This thoughtful gesture was a way to show respect and gratitude to the elders of the community while fostering a spirit of togetherness.
Events like this are crucial in strengthening community bonds and providing an opportunity for senior citizens to gather, celebrate, and enjoy a meal together in good company.
Gratitude and Support
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Malathi Waran for providing financial support for the lunch. Her generosity and commitment to community wellbeing ensured that the event was a success.
We also thank all the volunteers and community members who helped organise the event, creating a welcoming environment for the elderly participants. These efforts are a reminder of the power of collective action in uplifting our communities.
Vanni Hope’s Commitment to Community Development
At Vanni Hope, we believe in the importance of special initiatives like these that promote community engagement and wellbeing. Supporting celebrations and community events is an integral part of our mission to empower and strengthen communities across Sri Lanka.
We remain committed to organising and supporting similar events that bring people together and create lasting memories for all involved.
