As part of Vanni Hope’s Shelter for Life Project, two semi-permanent homes have been constructed for families led by two resilient women, Punitha and Niroshini, both widows raising children in Kallarippu, Vaharai, located in Batticaloa District. This essential initiative, generously sponsored by Ramesh and Dharmini Vaheisvaran from Australia, provides these families with a secure, stable environment in which they can build a hopeful future.
Supporting Women-Headed Families
Punitha and Niroshini’s families face unique challenges as women-led households in areas with limited resources and economic opportunities. By providing safe housing, the Shelter for Life Project aims to offer both immediate relief and long-term stability. The homes, constructed using sustainable, durable materials, offer not just shelter but also a supportive foundation for these families to grow and thrive.
Community Impact and Sponsorship
The support from Ramesh and Dharmini Vaheisvaran has been instrumental in making this project a reality. Their sponsorship is a testament to the impact that individuals can make by extending compassion and practical support to those in need. Through their generosity, Punitha and Niroshini’s children now have a secure place to call home, fostering a positive environment essential for their wellbeing and development.
Building a Brighter Future Together
