Vanni Hope is proud to share the success of our latest Shelter for Life Project in Puthur, Kathiraveli, Batticaloa District. This initiative, sponsored by the Chandra Mohan family from the USA, provided a permanent house, along with essential sanitation and clean water facilities, for K. Subashini and her family. By combining efforts from our Shelter for Life and Water for Life (WASH) projects, we are delivering comprehensive support to one of Sri Lanka’s most underserved communities.
A New Start for K. Subashini’s Family
K. Subashini and her family faced significant challenges, living without access to secure housing, safe sanitation, or potable water. These basic necessities are essential not just for daily life but also for health, wellbeing, and dignity. Through this project, Vanni Hope has provided a stable home and access to vital resources, giving the family a foundation for a brighter future.
Integrated Support for Long-Term Wellbeing
Integrated Support for Long-Term WellbeingThe project goes beyond providing a house. With the addition of sanitation facilities and a potable water source, the family now has access to clean water for drinking and daily needs. These improvements are vital for preventing waterborne diseases and promoting better hygiene, particularly in regions where water scarcity and poor sanitation are common.
Empowering Families and Communities
Empowering Families and CommunitiesThis initiative is part of Vanni Hope’s commitment to empowering families and fostering sustainable development in Sri Lanka’s rural areas. By addressing critical needs through integrated solutions, we are not only improving the lives of individual families but also strengthening communities as a whole.
Our Gratitude
Our GratitudeWe extend our heartfelt thanks to the Chandra Mohan family for their generous sponsorship and to everyone involved in making this project a reality. Together, we are creating meaningful change and helping families like K. Subashini’s build a better tomorrow.
