Restoring Access to Clean Water: Supporting 15 Families in Keeri Village, Mannar

Access to clean and safe drinking water is a fundamental need, yet for many families in rural Sri Lanka, it remains a daily challenge. In response to this urgent need, we successfully implemented a drinking water initiative in Keeri Village, Mannar District, bringing meaningful change to vulnerable households in the area.

Addressing a Critical Need in Keeri Village

Located within the Mannar Divisional Secretariat Division, Keeri Village is home to families facing significant socioeconomic challenges. Many households rely on irregular income sources and have limited access to essential services.

For these families, obtaining clean and safe drinking water has been a persistent difficulty, particularly for those affected by flooding and poor infrastructure.

Delivering Sustainable Water Access

Through this initiative, drinking water supply connections were successfully provided to 15 families, ensuring reliable access to safe water for everyday use.

The project was carefully implemented in collaboration with local authorities, including the relevant government bodies and water supply services, to ensure long term sustainability and proper installation of the connections.

This approach not only addressed immediate needs but also helped build a system that families can rely on moving forward.

Improving Health and Daily Living

The impact of this initiative extends far beyond access to water. With a safe and consistent water supply, families are now able to:

• Maintain better hygiene and sanitation practices
• Improve their overall quality of life and well being

For households with vulnerable members, including those facing health challenges, access to clean water has become a vital improvement in their daily lives.
