Foundation Laying Ceremony for Disability Home Vanni Hope Is Building in Sandilipay, Jaffna District

As part of our Disability Support efforts under the Health Enhancement Pillar, Vanni Hope recently held the Foundation Stone Ceremony for the Gnanapurnam Home for the Infirm, a new residential facility being built in the Jaffna District for individuals living with severe disabilities and chronic conditions.

This project is made possible through the kind sponsorship of Mr & Mrs Vaheisvaran and Family, whose generosity and compassion will help provide a safe, dignified and supportive home for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

A Place of Care and Dignity

Once completed, the Gnanapurnam Home for the Infirm will provide care, shelter, and daily support for individuals who are no longer able to live independently due to age, disability, or chronic illness. For many, it will be the only place where they can receive respectful care, nutritious meals and companionship in a safe environment.

This initiative addresses a vital need in the Jaffna region, where families facing poverty or long-term impacts of conflict often struggle to care for elders or disabled family members at home.

Laying the Foundation for a Brighter Future

The recent Foundation Stone Ceremony marked the beginning of construction for this important facility. Community leaders, supporters and local families joined us to bless the land and express hopes for the home to become a true place of comfort and compassion.

Vanni Hope will oversee the construction of the facility and its ongoing operations once it is complete.
