As part of our commitment to supporting and uplifting communities in underserved areas, the Vanni Hope team recently conducted a field visit to two very remote schools in the Kegalle District. Our team travelled to Nagasthenna Tamil Vidyalayam and Kandoloya Tamil Vidyalayam, located within the Yattiyanthotta Estate, to gain firsthand insights into the challenges faced by these schools and their communities.
Understanding the Needs of Remote Schools
Nagasthenna Tamil Vidyalayam and Kandoloya Tamil Vidyalayam are nestled in some of the most remote parts of the Kegalle District, where access to educational resources and facilities can be limited. These schools serve students from estate worker families who often face challenges in accessing quality education due to their remote location. By visiting these schools, Vanni Hope aims to better understand their unique needs and explore ways to provide targeted support.
Building Relationships and Exploring Support Opportunities
During our visit, we engaged with school staff, students, and community members to understand their daily experiences and the obstacles they encounter in delivering and accessing quality education. This engagement allows us to identify potential areas where Vanni Hope can offer support, such as supplying educational materials, improving classroom infrastructure, or providing resources that can enhance the learning experience for these students.
Our Commitment to Remote Communities in Sri Lanka
At Vanni Hope, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education, no matter where they live. By reaching out to remote schools like Nagasthenna Tamil Vidyalayam and Kandoloya Tamil Vidyalayam, we continue our mission to bridge gaps in educational access and empower students across Sri Lanka’s underserved regions.
Thank you to everyone who supports Vanni Hope’s work, enabling us to extend our impact to remote communities and help build a brighter future for all.
