Supporting Future Legal and Tech Leaders from Jaffna Through Student Sponsorships

At Vanni Hope, we believe that access to education can change lives and shape communities. As part of our Student Sponsorship Program under our Education Support Initiative, we are proud to support two outstanding students from the Jaffna District as they pursue their university education at the University of Colombo—one of Sri Lanka’s most prestigious institutions.

B. Thishya – Aspiring Lawyer from Nainativu

B. Thishya, hailing from Nainativu in the Jaffna District, is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Colombo. With a passion for justice and a determination to serve her community, Thishya is on the path to becoming a future legal professional who will one day advocate for the voiceless and uphold the rule of law.

Her journey is made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Sinnadurai Ravindra & Family from Sri Lanka, whose support is empowering Thishya to focus on her studies and build a meaningful legal career.

S. Dishanthan – Future Innovator in Computer Science

S. Dishanthan, from Achchelu, Jaffna District, is pursuing a degree in Computer Science at the University of Colombo. In an era where technology drives progress, Dishanthan’s choice of study places him on a path toward innovation, digital solutions, and impactful change—both locally and globally.

His sponsorship is provided by Dr. Malathi Waran from Australia, whose continued commitment to education is making a tangible difference in the lives of students like Dishanthan.

Empowering the Next Generation

These two scholarships not only relieve financial pressure but also send a powerful message to these students: that they are seen, valued, and supported in their journey. Sponsoring university education for bright minds from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds is one of the most direct ways to foster long-term social and economic progress.

At Vanni Hope, we’re committed to continuing this work—connecting compassionate sponsors with deserving students and creating a ripple effect of opportunity and hope.

If you’re interested in sponsoring a student and being the reason they smile today, we welcome you to get in touch with us.
