Three Vanni Hope-Sponsored Law Students Graduate and Take the Next Step Towards Their Legal Careers

At Vanni Hope, we believe that education is one of the most powerful tools to transform lives, families, and communities. Through our Education Support Initiative, and thanks to the generosity of our student sponsorship donors, three remarkable young women, M.S.F. Shifna, Sajeeththa Sivam, and Jayalalitha have successfully completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degrees and taken significant steps towards becoming lawyers.

Their journeys are not just personal victories; they are powerful reminders of what can be achieved when determination meets opportunity.

M.S.F. Shifna – Galagedara, Kandy

Raised in a modest household, Shifna’s path to success has been one of resilience and relentless dedication. Her mother worked tirelessly as a manual labourer and housemaid to support the family. As the eldest of two siblings, Shifna became a role model for her younger sister, who is now pursuing an external degree at the University of Colombo.

With Vanni Hope’s sponsorship, Shifna completed her LLB (Hons) degree with Second-Class Lower Honours from the University of Peradeniya and went on to pass her Attorney finals with a Second Class.

“I am happy to share that I have passed Attorney finals with a Second Class. I am forever grateful for the support you all provided me through undergraduate studies.” – Shifna

Jayalalitha – Pupuressa, Kandy

After losing her father, Jayalalitha’s mother worked as a labourer to support the family. Despite financial and personal hardships, Jayalalitha remained determined to achieve her academic goals. She is one of three siblings, with one brother and one sister.

Through Vanni Hope’s student sponsorship program, she was able to meet her accommodation and educational expenses while studying at the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. She has now successfully completed her Attorney-at-Law examinations.
