Supporting Young Learners Through the Vanni Hope Student Scholarship Program

Vanni Hope is proud to continue empowering the next generation of Sri Lanka’s learners through our Student Scholarship Program. By providing consistent educational support to students from vulnerable backgrounds, we help reduce school dropout rates and ensure young people can continue their education with dignity, stability, and hope for the future.

M. Krithika – Future Scholar

M. Krithika is currently studying in Grade 8 at K/Gampola Hindu College in the Kandy District. She comes from a financially vulnerable family, where her father works as a daily wage labourer and her mother is a housewife supporting three children. The family was recently severely affected by cyclone related flooding, which caused significant damage to their home and destroyed essential belongings, including school materials.

Krithika is supported through a four year scholarship generously sponsored by Pushpam & Ganga Gangatharan from Australia. This support allows her to continue her schooling without the constant worry of educational expenses and provides stability during a critical stage of her learning journey.

R. Saran – Future Science Student

R. Saran is pursuing his GCE Advanced Level studies in the Biology stream (2027 batch) at St. Antony’s Boys College, Kandy. He comes from a family facing significant financial hardship, with his father working as a daily wage labourer and no stable household income. His family was also impacted by recent cyclones and landslides in the Gampola area, forcing them to relocate due to damage to their home.

Saran is supported through a scholarship sponsored by Pushpam & Ganga Gangatharan from Australia, enabling him to focus on his A level studies, meet essential educational needs, and work toward his goal of continuing into higher education.
