Supporting Future Scientists and Engineers from Kotagala through Student Sponsorships

As part of our ongoing Education Support Initiative, Vanni Hope is proud to announce the sponsorship of two promising students from the Nuwara Eliya District, empowering them to continue their academic journeys and pursue their dreams in the fields of science and engineering.

These scholarships were made possible through the generosity of our sponsors in Australia and serve as a testament to the lasting impact education can have on transforming lives.

P. Diloshini – Pursuing Physical Science at Cambridge College, Kotagala

Hailing from New Portmore Estate in Agarapathana, P. Diloshini is currently studying G.C.E. Advanced Level Physical Science at CP/N/Cambridge College, Kotagala. With a strong academic foundation and an ambition to contribute meaningfully to the scientific community, Diloshini is making the most of every opportunity provided to her.

Her scholarship has been generously sponsored by Ms. Sathia Karunakaran from Australia, who believes in the power of education to uplift young women from estate communities. This support enables Diloshini to focus fully on her studies without the burden of financial hardship.

D. Sadhurshan – Studying Engineering at the University of Moratuwa

D. Sadhurshan, from Kanapathy Puram, Kotagala, is currently pursuing his degree in Engineering at the prestigious University of Moratuwa. Coming from a region where access to higher education is often out of reach, Sadhurshan’s journey is a shining example of perseverance and talent meeting opportunity.

His scholarship is proudly sponsored by Ms. Chrisanthi Kunaratnam from Australia, whose support ensures that financial constraints do not stand in the way of a student with great potential and ambition.

Investing in the Future

Both students come from plantation regions where families often face economic challenges and limited access to quality educational infrastructure. Through Vanni Hope’s Student Sponsorship Program, we aim to bridge this gap and support bright students in pursuing higher education in their chosen fields.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors for recognising the potential in these young individuals and investing in their future. It is through such support that we continue to be the reason someone smiles today.

If you would like to sponsor a student and be part of this journey, we invite you to reach out to us. Together, we can shape brighter futures for students across Sri Lanka.
