Student Sponsorships for Sindhuja in Biosystems Technology and Sivaraja Brunda in Advanced Level Bio Science

Vanni Hope’s Student Sponsorship program, part of our Education Support initiatives, continues to open doors for students in need. We are proud to stand beside two determined young women at different stages of learning, ensuring that their education continues despite financial hardship.

K. Sindhuja – University of Colombo, Biosystems Technology (Environmental Technology)

Sindhuja is an undergraduate at the University of Colombo, Faculty of Technology, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biosystems Technology with a specialisation in Environmental Technology. She is currently in her second year, second semester.
She comes from an agricultural family in Nuwara Eliya District whose livelihood was severely affected when devastating floods rendered their farmland unusable. With two younger brothers still in school, the family’s limited income has been stretched thin, increasing the risk that her studies will be interrupted.
Through Vanni Hope’s sponsorship, kindly provided by Janaki and Rama Ramachandran, Sindhuja can continue focusing on her degree without the constant pressure of meeting living, travel, and academic costs. This support ensures stability today and a clear pathway into a science career that can serve both the community and the country.

Sivaraja Brunda – Aluthgamweediya Muslim Girls Central College, Advanced Level Bio Science

Brunda is an Advanced Level Bio Science student at KL/Aluthgamweediya Muslim Girls Central College in Dharaga Town, Kalutara.
Her father is a wage labourer who lives with heart disease, while her mother is a homemaker affected by a leg condition. A school-going sister and daily bus travel add to the financial strain. Despite these realities, Brunda remains committed to her studies and dreams of a brighter future for her family.
With sponsorship from Arunan Xavier, Brunda now has the continuity, materials, and transport she needs to stay in school and perform at her best.
