Smart Classroom Opening at Onthachimadam Sri Vinayagar Maha Vidyalayam

Vanni Hope is proud to announce the successful opening of a Smart Classroom at Bt/Pd Onthachimadam Sri Vinayagar Maha Vidyalayam in the Batticaloa District, marking a significant milestone in our Education Support Initiative. This project, generously sponsored by Theivanayagam Soundararasa & Family from Australia (Excellent Jewellers), is set to transform the learning experience for students by integrating digital education tools into their curriculum.

Bridging the Digital Divide in Underserved Communities

Located in the Kaluwanchikudy DS Division, the school serves approximately 492 students, the majority of whom come from low-income families with limited access to modern educational resources. Until now, students and teachers had little to no exposure to digital learning facilities, restricting their ability to engage with technology-driven education.

Through this initiative, Vanni Hope has established a fully-equipped Smart Classroom, ensuring that students from vulnerable backgrounds gain access to quality digital education. The new classroom includes a Smart Board (Panel), multimedia learning resources, and digital connectivity, enabling interactive learning experiences and fostering critical thinking, creativity, and technological literacy.

A Step Towards Modern Learning

The integration of a Smart Classroom goes beyond simply providing equipment—it represents a shift towards modern teaching methodologies that encourage collaborative, student-centred learning. As part of this effort, teachers at the school will receive training on how to effectively use Smart Board technology in their lessons.

This training will:

• Equip educators with the skills needed to deliver interactive lessons
• Help students grasp complex concepts through visual and interactive aids
• Enhance student engagement and participation in lessons
