Susmitha’s Journey Overcoming Adversity to Achieve Her Dream of Becoming a Doctor

Susmitha Rajmohan, a dedicated and hardworking student from Kilinochchi, recently completed her Final MBBS at the prestigious Faculty of Medicine, Eastern University of Sri Lanka. Her achievement is a testament to her unwavering commitment to her studies and her determination to build a better future for herself and her family.

A Journey Marked by Hardships and Strength

Two years ago, Susmitha’s life took a difficult turn when she lost her father—an emotional and financial setback that deeply affected her family. Despite this immense loss, she continued to push forward, driven by a dream of serving her community as a doctor.

She now lives with her mother, who works tirelessly in manual labor to provide for the family, and her two younger sisters—one pursuing a Geography Special Arts degree at Jaffna University, and the other studying for her O/Ls at Kilinochchi Mahavidyalam. The family also cares for her grandmother, a heart patient, who remains a source of love and support throughout their struggles.
